ERROL SPENCE JR reacted brilliantly after being called a “b****” by Floyd Mayweather in a brutal sparring session.
Spence first started sparring the boxing legend in 2013, when he was one year into his professional career having competed in the 2012 Olympics.
Mayweather was renowned for heated sparring sessions in his Las Vegas gym, known as the “doghouse”.
Spence recalled on the The Pivot podcast: “Once I got in there, everybody started hitting on the mat.
“They call it the doghouse. That just triggered something in my head.
“It was like a competitive instinct in my head that was like, ‘Oh it’s on now.’ We went like five to ten minutes for one round.”
But as the current welterweight champion remembers, one sarky comment from Mayweather sparked more intense rounds.
Spence revealed: “So I get out the ring, he gets out the ring and he says, ‘You aight for a b***h.’ I said, ‘What? Man you got me messed up.’
“I said, ‘Man, put your s*** back on. Matter of fact, turn off the clock. We’ll go until somebody drops.’
“Then we get in there and spar for like eight or nine more minutes and then he was like, ‘Alright that’s enough.’

“I think I earned his respect. He was like, ‘Alright, this kid ain’t no pushover.’”
Mayweather, 35, later retired officially in 2017 at 50-0 after beating UFC superstar Conor McGregor, 33.
And it was Spence, 32, who went on to inherit the welterweight throne as the reigning unified WBC and IBF champ.
The unbeaten Texan returns this Saturday against Yordenis Ugas, 35, who will put up his WBA belt.
