Deontay Wilder breaks silence as ‘cops find pistol and drugs in his Rolls Royce’ and hints at why he might carry a gun

DEONTAY WILDER has broken his silence after police reportedly found a gun and drugs in his luxury Rolls Royce.

The LAPD allegedly found the firearm in the former WBC heavyweight champion’s luxury ride after pulling him over on Tuesday morning.

The Bronze Bomber broke his silence on his arrest on Twitter

According to TMZ, cops pulled over the Bronze Bomber for having an obstructed license plate and “illegally tinted windows”.

After smelling marijuana coming from the vehicle, the police searched it and discovered a 9mm pistol in his possession.

Wilder, 37, was taken into custody but posted bond and was subsequently released five hours later.

And the hard-hitting heavyweight has addressed his arrest in a short and sweet tweet.

The Alabama slammer tweeted: “I’d rather be safe than sorry. The End.”

Vicious knockout artist Wilder is currently on course for an eagerly-anticipated showdown with long-time rival Anthony Joshua.

The fight is currently in the works for December – with Saudi Arabia expected to host the dust-up.

Former unified heavyweight champion Joshua said of Wilder: “He is good, I respect him, I don’t undermine him. That will make me raise my game.

“I respect what he has done and what he has done in this division.

“It is hard to become a champion and he did it so I have to respect that.

“It’s going to be a tough fight but I am confident in myself. I’m a better, more well-rounded athlete, a better, more well-rounded fighter.

“In terms of it getting delivered [from my side], I honestly believe it is 95 per cent there.”

Wilder hasn’t set foot inside the ring since his brutal one-punch knockout of former sparring partner Robert Helenius last October.

That stoppage of the Nordic Nightmare saw him bounce back to winning ways following consecutive stoppage losses to Tyson Fury.

How To

These are the basics of boxing

How to effectively box

Boxing has become a very popular sport. It is a fight between two opponents. Each country has its own rules. There are three types: Amateur, Professional, or Olympic boxing.

Amateur boxing can be practiced at school or college. This type of boxing includes sparring sessions with padded gloves and without any protection. Amateur boxing competitions usually last three rounds and last five minutes each. There are many styles of amateur boxing such as Kickboxing or Muay Thai, Taekwondo and Karate, Judo and Wrestling, among others.

Most professional boxing takes place in gyms, clubs, and stadiums. They are equipped with protective equipment including a mouthpiece and nose guard, shinguards as well as elbow pads, knee pads. Waist belts and groin protectors. Professional boxing contests last six rounds and last for four minutes each. There are many styles to professional boxing.

Olympic boxing is performed at the Olympics. Boxers wear special protective gear, which must conform to international standards. The eight rounds last three minutes each and are held over eight rounds. Olympic boxing can be divided into two types: Light Flyweight (Heavyweight) and Heavyweight (Light Flyweight).

Boxing’s fundamental skills are:

  • Punching techniques
  • Guarding techniques
  • Footwork
  • Stance
  • Move your body
  • Defense
  • Combination
  • Rotation
  • Spares

Punching Techniques

There are seven types. Each punch is different. Some punches require more strength than others. For example, an uppercut requires great force. A straight punch on the other side requires less power, but is more effective than other punches.

There are also different combinations. These are combinations of punches which work together to achieve a goal. An entire combination could have several parts. For example, a combination of a left and right hook will result in damage to the opponent’s jaw.

Guard Techniques

A boxer uses his body to protect himself against attacks. He does this using his legs and arms, elbows as well as hands, knees and feet.

Legs

Boxers should use the legs to protect themselves against kicks. If he gets kicked, he raises one leg and turns away from his attacker. If the attacker is coming from the front, he will bend at the knees to avoid getting kicked on either side. If the attack comes from behind, however, he can stand straight up and block the kick by his foot.

Elbows

Because they cause great pain, elbow strikes are extremely effective. An elbow strike can be delivered directly or indirectly. Directly means that your opponent is hit with your forearm. However, indirectly means that your elbow strike is delivered with another part or your arm.

Hands

Boxers use their arms to stop incoming blows. To do so, they raise their fists above their head and move them towards the direction of the attack. They then make contact with their attacker’s fist.

Knees

When receiving a blow to the stomach, abdomen or chest, a boxer should bend his knees to absorb the impact. For defense purposes, knee strikes are common.

Feet

A boxer should not be afraid to respond to an attack. He can then gain distance from his opponent. Also, boxers must maintain their balance while delivering counter-attacks.

Stances

In order to box effectively, a boxer needs to establish a stance. The way he defends him will be dictated by his stance. It dictates how he places his body and faces his opponent. Boxers have many options for stances. These are the most popular:

  • A low stance
  • High stance
  • Southpaw stance
  • Western stance

Body Movement

Boxers must maneuver around their opponent to win fights. This means changing your speed, position and rhythm.

Rotation

When a boxer throws a punch, he rotates in order to increase the reach of his arm. The rotation is done at different speeds depending on the type of punch.

Combinations

The timing of each punch will determine the effectiveness and efficiency of a combination. A combination is good if it starts with a strong punch then ends with a weaker one.

Spare parts

Sparring is a practice session designed to improve boxing skills . During sparring sessions, a boxer trains his mind as well as his body. Sparring is a way to learn how to fight without getting hurt.

It is important to be patient and dedicated when learning how to box. To be a better boxer you need to train hard.
