The former unified heavyweight champion has visited a chiropractor to decompress his body ahead of the fight

AJ felt a million dollars after the adjustment

The 33-year-old was quick to thank Dr. Elahi for the treatment

Joshua is now focused on recovering from the brutal stress he’s put his body under – and that’s included some spinal decompression.

AJ recently visited chiropractor Dr Ali Elahi to get an adjustment and relieve some of the pressure in his back and the rest of his body.

Joshua, 33, laid down on a drop table and had his spine crunched by Elahi’s trademarked Ring Ding apparatus.

Elahi also used a towel to crack AJ’s neck, wrapping it under his chin and yanking it.

After having his neck cracked and feeling the release of pressure, Joshua said: “That was a lot of decompression.

“I feel like that was a lot of built-up tension that has just been released from my body.”

Joshua continued to marvel at the effectiveness of the treatment, saying: “Oh my gosh.

“I understand what you say when you say, ‘I’ll never feel anything like that before.’ Respect.”

In addition to having his neck adjusted via towel, AJ also had Elahi give him a more traditional neck adjustment.

After having his final adjustment, Joshua said: “I felt it through my whole ribs.

“It wasn’t just my spine. Everything.

“Like my whole back, my shoulders – everything felt like it went.

“Wow, thank you so much. It feels good, really good.”

Joshua will be hoping his recent trip to the chiropractor will help him in his bid to return to the win column against American gunslinger Franklin.

AJ is currently on a two-fight skid following consecutive losses to unified heavyweight champ Oleksandr Usyk.

And defeat to Franklin could spell the end of his glittering career.

How to box effectively

Boxing is the most loved sport in the world. It is a fight between two opponents. Boxing rules vary from one country or another. There are generally three types of boxing: Amateur, Professional, and Olympic.

Amateur boxing is usually practiced at school, college or university. This type of boxing includes sparring sessions with padded gloves and without any protection. Amateur boxing competitions typically last for three rounds, each lasting five minutes. There are many styles of amateur boxing such as Kickboxing or Muay Thai, Taekwondo and Karate, Judo and Wrestling, among others.

Professional boxing is usually practiced in gyms, clubs or stadiums. They have protective equipment such as mouthpieces. Professional boxing competitions include six rounds of four minutes each. There are many types of professional boxing. These include Boxing (MMA), Kickboxing (Mixed Martial Arts), Muay Thai and Taekwondo.

Olympic boxing is practiced at the Olympics. Special protective gear must be worn by boxers to ensure compliance with international standards. Each round lasts three minutes and is made up of eight rounds. Only two types of Olympic boxing are available: Light Flyweight or Heavyweight.

Boxing’s fundamental skills are:

  • Punching techniques
  • Guarding techniques
  • Footwork
  • Stance
  • Movement of the body
  • Defense
  • Combination
  • Rotation
  • Spare parts

Punching Techniques

There are seven types. Each punch has its own technique. Some punches need more power than others. An example of this is an uppercut, which requires tremendous force. However, a straight punch is much more powerful and faster than other punches.

There are many combinations of punches. These are combinations of punches that work together to achieve a specific goal. A combination can contain multiple parts. An example of this is a left hook, followed by a right crossing. This will damage the opponent’s jaw.

Guard Techniques

A boxer protects himself by using his body. He does this by using his legs, arms, elbows, hands, knees and feet.

Legs

Boxers should use their legs to defend against kicks. He raises his leg when he is hit with a kick and then moves away from the opponent. If the attack comes from the front, then he bends his knees to avoid being kicked on the side. He will block the kick with his foot if the attack is coming from behind.

Elbows

Elbow strikes are very powerful because they inflict great pain. You can either deliver an elbow strike directly, or indirectly. Directly means you hit your opponent directly with your forearm. While indirectly, it means you hit him with another section of your arm.

Hands

Boxers use the power of their hands to block any incoming blows. They raise their fists high above their heads and point them in the direction of an attack. Then, they touch the attacker’s hand.

Knees

A boxer should bend his knees in order to absorb any blows to his stomach, abdomen, chest or stomach. Defense purposes are often served by knee strikes.

Feet

A boxer should take control of an attack and respond with counter-attacks. He can then gain distance from his opponent. Also, boxers must maintain their balance while delivering counter-attacks.

Stances

Boxing is only possible if a boxer has a clear stance. His stance determines how he defends himself. It determines where he will face his opponent and how he will position his body. There are many stances available to boxers. These are some of our most favorite:

  • Low stance
  • High stance
  • Southpaw stance
  • Western stance

Body Movement

A boxer must change his position, speed and rhythm in order to win the fight. This means changing your speed, position and rhythm.

Rotation

To increase his punching power, a boxer rotates when he throws a punch. Depending on what punch is being thrown, the speed of rotation varies.

Combinations

The timing of each individual punch affects the effectiveness or failure of a combination. A combination of strong and weak punches will produce a good result.

Spare parts

Sparring, a boxing practice session, is designed to improve your boxing skills. During sparring sessions, a boxer trains his mind as well as his body. The goal of sparring is to learn to fight, and not to get hurt.

Learning to box takes dedication and patience. Boxing is a sport that requires dedication and perseverance.
