Arsenal transfer target Youri Tielemans ‘to hold talks with Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers over future this week’

ARSENAL transfer target Youri Tielemans will sit down with Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers to discuss his future this week, according to reports.

The Belgium international, 25, has just one year left on his contract at the King Power Stadium.

Tielemans will meet with boss Rodgers this week to discuss his future at Leicester

Tielemans has consistently refused offers on new terms but has remained committed to playing for the Foxes.

He is attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle.

According to Sky Sports, the midfielder will sit down with Leicester boss Rodgers this week and discuss his future at the club.

Tielemans could be picked up for more than half of what Man Utd are looking to pay for Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong.

The Red Devils agreed a £72million fee with Barca for the Dutchman.

However, the player has reservations over a move to Old trafford.

And Arsenal appear to be closing in on Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko.

United could have a free run at Tielemans should they end their pursuit of De Jong.

Foxes boss Rodgers hailed Tielemans’ professionalism despite his future at the club in doubt.

He said: “There’s no update at all. He’s an amazing guy to work with.

“He’s just re-joined the club [for pre-season] and he’s pretty much the same. In training he’s very committed.

“He’s happy in his work and he’s happy at the club. But naturally with a year in his contract he may feel he has to look at everything for him and his family.

“But I certainly know he’s committed while he is here.

“I’ll have a good chat with Youri next week to get privately what he’s thinking.

“But it won’t change, whether he’s leaving or staying for another five years, he’ll still be super committed.”
