Chelsea are reportedly lining up a bid for Cristiano Ronaldo

And SunSport exclusively revealed last night that United have accepted they WILL lose Ronaldo this summer.

Chelsea are now looking to pounce with a £14m bid for the unsettled 37-year-old, according to journalist Peter O’Rourke.

As revealed by SunSport on Monday Blues owner Boehly is a huge fan of Ronaldo – but at the time boss Thomas Tuchel still needed convincing to press ahead with a move.

Now though reports suggest Chelsea are lining up an offer.

A bid of £14m is just under £6m less than than the £19.7m Manchester United paid Juventus to resign the Portuguese superstar last summer.

Ronaldo still has a year left on his Old Trafford deal but is thought to be eager to leave in order to continue playing in the Champions League.

New manager Erik ten Hag had been keen for Ronaldo to stay and help his Old Trafford revolution.

Ronaldo is currently on indefinite leave after after delaying his return to Manchester United training due to family reasons.

He had been due to return to the club’s Carrington HQ on Monday to begin pre-season training.
