CRISTIANO RONALDO took to Instagram after scoring the 700th club goal of his incredible career.

The Manchester United forward reached the landmark with a clinical left-footed finish.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 700th club goal against Everton

The Man Utd forward came off the bench to net the winner

After starting on the bench, an injury to Anthony Martial saw Ronaldo sent on after just 28 minutes.

And it took him just 15 minutes to find the back of the net.

Ronaldo wrote on Instagram after the 2-1 win over Everton – but did NOT mention reaching 700 club goals.

He said: “Great win guys! Another step in the right direction! #WeStandUnited”

It was just a second goal of the season for Ronaldo, and 144th in total for United, having been heavily linked with a move away from the club in the summer.

After asking to leave, Ronaldo ended up staying at Old Trafford after a lack of interest in his services.

The Portuguese superstar has also netted a whopping 450 times for Real Madrid, 101 times for Juventus, and five times for Sporting Lisbon.

His overall tally stands at 817 when the 117 strikes for Portugal are added to his club haul.

India cricket captain Virat Kohli replied to his post: “The G.O.A.T. #700.”

Meanwhile Gary Lineker wrote on Twitter: “700 club goals for the incredible @cristiano. That’s 35 goals a season for 20 years. Ridiculous!”

And Alan Shearer said: “700th career club goal @Cristiano wowza.”

United manager Erik ten Hag praised Ronaldo after the forward reached the landmark number.

After bringing Ronaldo off the bench, he said: “That is really impressive, when you score 700 goals, it’s a huge performance.

“I’m really happy for him, I congratulate him on that performance and I’m also happy it’s his first goal this season in the Premier League – he had to wait for it and I’m sure there will be more goals.”
