Crystal Palace Star Michael Olise Drops Major Hint of Chelsea Move

Instagram Clear-Out Sparks Transfer Speculation

Michael Olise, the talented France U21 international, has fuelled rumors of a move to Chelsea by erasing all traces of Crystal Palace from his Instagram account. The 21-year-old forward, who has also caught the attention of Manchester City, is believed to have already agreed personal terms with Mauricio Pochettino's side. Despite Crystal Palace rejecting an initial £26 million bid, Olise's recent actions suggest that he is edging closer to leaving the club.

Signs Continue to Point Towards an Exit

Olise's absence from Roy Hodgson's squad during Crystal Palace's victorious Premier League opener against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane has further intensified speculation surrounding his future. The player's decision to delete any images of him playing for Palace from his Instagram, as well as removing all references to the club in his bio and changing his profile picture, only adds to the mounting rumors that he will depart this summer.

Player of the Year Set for Departure

Named Palace's Player of the Year in the previous season, Olise recorded an impressive tally of two goals and 11 assists in 40 appearances. However, with the winger likely to join Wilfried Zaha in exiting the club, Hodgson has made it clear that he will not stand in Olise's way if he desires to move on, despite his contract running until 2026.

Background and Potential Transfer Fee

Olise began his footballing journey at Chelsea, joining the club at the age of seven and spending seven years with the Blues. After his release at the age of 14, he moved on to Reading's academy. Crystal Palace signed the young talent from Reading in 2021 for a fee of £8 million. Should Chelsea secure Olise's services, it is expected to require a transfer fee of at least £35 million, inching the club's spending in the Todd Boehly era close to £1 billion in just three transfer windows.
