FORMER Arsenal star Samir Nasri has urged Cristiano Ronaldo to leave Manchester United and join Marseille.
The 37-year-old Portuguese superstar has made it clear his desire to depart Old Trafford this summer in search of Champions League football.

A number of high-profile clubs have already ruled themselves out of signing him – Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund to name just a few.
And it was reported last week that Marseille have no interest in acquiring the former Real Madrid and Juventus man.
Yet Nasri, who came through the Ligue 1 outfit’s youth set-up and played for the first team between 2004 and 2008, still insists Ronaldo should be open to joining Marseille.
And he points towards a potential link-up with ex-Arsenal and Man Utd forward Alexis Sanchez as a major plus of moving to the team located in the south of France.
He told Canal+ Sport: “I have a solution for him.
“He can terminate his contract, they give him half his year and in Marseille they make an effort, they give him something and he comes to play in the Champions League.
“A Cristiano Ronaldo-Alexis Sanchez attack looks good.”
Ronaldo has struggled to reintegrate back into the Man Utd squad since returning from the summer break.
He came on as a substitute in the defeat to Brighton, before starting the 4-0 loss to Brentford.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner then returned to the bench for the 2-1 win over Liverpool on Monday night – making a brief appearance in the 86th minute.
But Erik ten Hag‘s decision to drop Ronaldo was vindicated by the team’s performance, leaving his star player’s position at the club in doubt.
Ronaldo claimed earlier this month that he will set the record straight in an interview “in a couple of weeks” – something United legend Gary Neville criticised him for.
