Former Premier League star Brenden Aaronson banned from driving after caught speeding in flashy Mercedes AMG

A former Premier League star, Brenden Aaronson, has been banned from driving after he was caught speeding in his flashy Mercedes. The Leeds midfielder was clocked at 37mph in a 30mph zone while driving through Harrogate in North Yorkshire.

Banned from driving for six months

Aaronson, 23, has been banned from driving for a period of six months after accumulating 13 points on his licence. As part of his punishment, he has also been ordered to pay a £666 fine, £266 surcharge, and £90 in court costs.

Guilty plea at Harrogate Magistrates' Court

The US international, currently on loan with Union Berlin, pleaded guilty to the speeding offence at Harrogate Magistrates' Court. It was revealed in court that he already had ten points on his licence at the time of the incident.

Transfer to Leeds and loan to Union Berlin

Aaronson signed for Leeds in 2022 in a £25 million transfer from RB Salzburg. During his time with the Premier League club, he scored one goal in 40 appearances across all competitions. The goal came after an extraordinary blunder by Chelsea keeper Edouard Mendy. Following Leeds' relegation from the Premier League, Aaronson went out on loan to Bundesliga side Union Berlin.
