Fulham Extend Tom Cairney’s Contract by 12 Months as Performance Against Arsenal Caps off Stunning Resurgence

Fulham Football Club has announced that they have extended the contract of midfielder Tom Cairney for an additional year. The Scottish player, who was set to become a free agent this summer, will now remain with the club until 2025. This decision comes after Cairney's impressive performances in recent matches under the guidance of manager Marco Silva.

Impressive Showing Against Arsenal

Cairney showcased his skills and talent in Fulham's recent 2-1 victory over Arsenal. The 32-year-old midfielder also reached a significant milestone of making his 300th club appearance during the team's 5-0 triumph over West Ham last month.

A Decade of Service

Having joined Fulham from Blackburn Rovers in 2015 for £2.8 million, Cairney has become a key figure in the team. Despite missing the start of the current season due to a knee injury, he has worked hard to regain his place in the squad. With this contract extension, Cairney is set to complete a decade of service at Craven Cottage.

Contract Extensions at Fulham

In addition to Cairney's contract extension, Fulham recently announced that defender Tim Ream has also agreed to extend his stay at the club until 2025. Ream, who joined Fulham in 2015, will continue to contribute to the team's success in the upcoming seasons.

Tosin Adarabioyo's Future

On the other hand, it has been reported that Tosin Adarabioyo has informed Fulham of his intention to leave the club as a free agent at the end of the season. The 26-year-old centre-back has attracted interest from Tottenham and Monaco, and it is expected that he will decline Fulham's offer for a new contract. Despite this, Fulham remains optimistic about retaining Adarabioyo's services until the end of the current campaign.

Looking Ahead

While there are still months remaining on Adarabioyo's current contract, Fulham is hopeful that he will stay with the club during the January transfer window. However, the defender will have the option to enter into a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs starting next month. Manager Marco Silva is keeping his fingers crossed for a change of heart from Adarabioyo before the season concludes.
