PETER CROUCH has revealed that he ended up joining Burnley after a boozy conversation with Sean Dyche at the Isle of Wight festival.
The striker has had a productive career since his brief stint at Turf Moor and now thrives as a pundit and podcaster.

But his spell in Lancashire might not have even happened had Crouch not gone to one music concert in 2019 and bumped into a Premier League manager.
The striker’s career was winding down and his contract was set to expire at Stoke City, who had been relegated from the top flight.
But then his “agent” wife Abbey Clancy got involved when the pair bumped into Dyche at the Isle of Wight festival.
Crouch revealed to guest Niall Horan on his podcast: “Sean Dyche was there [at the Isle of White festival]. I was at Stoke and we were just chatting while Kasabian were on, and Sean Dyche is a big Kasabian fan.
“We’re sitting there and then Ab just says to him: ‘Stoke have just got relegated.’
“And Ab says to him ‘why don’t you sign Pete?’
“And [Dyche] went ‘what’s your contract situation?’ I said it’s up at the end of the year. And he said: “let’s do it!”
“Ab was the agent!”
Former One Direction star Horan branded the interaction “genius”.
And Dyche, asked about the tale in a 2021 interview with Sky Sports, said the story was “sorta true”.
Crouch would only make six appearances for the Clarets before calling it a day in 2019.
The legendary 6ft 7ins striker had a 20-year career that took him to 11 clubs and saw him win 42 England caps.
