Jesse Lingard hails Conor McGregor after he promotes Proper 12 Twelve Whiskey in Man Utd shirt

JESSE LINGARD has shown his support for UFC star Conor McGregor as he displayed his love for Manchester United.

McGregor, 33, is a huge United fan and even revealed his desire to buy the club earlier this year.

He frequently shows off his United allegiance too, sharing his delight at Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Old Trafford in August.

And he also often uses his social media to promote his Proper Twelve Whiskey.

On this occasion, he posted a promotional shoot for the company, whiskey glass in hand.

McGregor was wearing a retro United kit from the 1990s – featuring the club’s iconic former sponsor Sharp.

But as one fan pointed out, the strip may have been a knock-off version of the real thing.

Nevertheless, Lingard showed his appreciation to McGregor, posting a handshake emoji alongside a red circle.

Perhaps unfortunately for McGregor he decided to post the photo of him in a United shirt on a day they dropped more points at home.

Anthony Martial fired United in front to remind both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the Old Trafford crowd exactly what he offers.

But Everton hit back in the second half with Andros Townsend finishing off a fine counter-attack.

And Yerry Mina could have won it late on for the Toffees if he had stayed onside from Tom Davies’ cross-goal pass.

Lingard remained on the bench throughout despite playing a pivotal role in Ronaldo’s last-minute winner against Villareal on Wednesday.
