Jorginho confirms what Mo Salah said to him as Chelsea star stepped up to take Carabao Cup final penalty in shootout

JORGINHO has confirmed what Mo Salah said to him as he stepped up to take his penalty during Sunday’s League Cup final.

After a 0-0 draw that saw four goals disallowed, the match was concluded with a penalty shoot-out at Wembley.

Mo Salah turned to mutter at Jorginho

Salah converted Liverpool’s fifth spot kick, with the pressure then falling on Jorginho to keep Chelsea in the match.

Fans spotted the Egyptian muttering something in the Italian’s direction, as they crossed each other on the way to the halfway line.

Some were convinced that Salah said ‘don’t jump’ – in a reference to Jorginho’s trademark penalty technique.

And the 30-year-old now appears to have confirmed that was indeed the case.

Sky Italia published a story reporting that Salah had said ‘non saltare’ – meaning ‘do not jump’ in English.

Jorginho himself then shared the story.

Salah’s attempt at putting his opponent off didn’t work, with Jorginho tucking away his penalty with his usual hop.

But Liverpool’s No11 would eventually have the last laugh.

Neither Caoimhin Kelleher or substitute Kepa Arrizabalaga could get near any of the outfielder’s penalties – meaning that they had to step up themselves.

Kelleher managed to bag his, before Kepa’s was skied high into Wembley’s lower tier – handing the Reds victory.
