Jurgen Klopp sets sights on Jude Bellingham deal next year as Liverpool FINISH transfer business for summer

JURGEN KLOPP will wait for Jude Bellingham as Liverpool finished their transfer business early.

The Reds agreed a deal worth £6.5million for Aberdeen right-back Calvin Ramsay on Thursday.

Liverpool will target Jude Bellingham next summer after concluding this year’s business

Liverpool will pay an initial £4m which will increase by another £2.5m in add-ons linked to appearances and trophy success for the 18-year-old defender.

Scotland Under-21 international Ramsay is primed to sign a five-year contract and likely to travel to Merseyside at the weekend.

Ramsay will be Klopp’s third signing of the window after landing Benfica striker Darwin Nunez for a potential fee of £85m and Fabio Carvalho, the 19-year-old midfielder from Fulham in a £7.7m deal.

And that will be it for the window with Klopp happy his bolstered squad can once again challenge on four fronts next term.

Haaland and Nunez deals make Prem like SPL as City and Liverpool dominate again

The Reds were believed to be keen to add a new frontline midfielder but that has been parked until next year.

England starlet Bellingham is the man Klopp really wants but Borussia Dortmund will not sanction another big-name departure following Erling Haaland’s move to Manchester City.

And next summer is likely to be the time for the Anfield club to strength that department with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita entering the final 12 months of their current contracts.

The Reds are awaiting a third bid from Bayern Munich for Sadio Mane while Monaco and Lyon are keen on Takumi Minamino.

But Klopp is happy that his new buys will offset those losses.

Ramsay is one for the future, having made his breakthrough in Scotland’s Premier League last season.

The full-back made 33 appearances and his impressive displays saw him win the Scottish Football Writers’ Young Player of the Year award.

Ramsay’s fee beats the previous best the Scottish Premiership side received for Scott McKenna when he moved to Nottingham Forest for £3m in September 2020.
