New pictures show progress at Everton stadium with £500m development set to be ready for next season

Exciting new pictures have emerged, revealing the progress of Everton's highly anticipated £500million stadium. The new ground, set to be open for the start of next season, is already taking shape as construction work continues.

Goodbye Goodison

After an incredible 132 years, Everton fans are bidding farewell to their beloved Goodison Park. But with the promise of a state-of-the-art arena just around the corner, they are eagerly anticipating the move to their new home.

A grand upgrade

And what an upgrade it will be! The 39,414 seater Goodison Park will be swapped for a more modern 52,888 capacity arena. Not only that, but the new ground will sit majestically on the docks of the city, just two miles away from their spiritual home.

A tragic loss

In the midst of the construction, tragedy struck when a construction worker, Michael Jones, lost his life in a tragic accident. The 26-year-old suffered head injuries on the site on August 14. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.

Taking inspiration

Excitingly, Everton's new stadium will feature a 13,000-seater stand inspired by Borussia Dortmund's iconic yellow wall. This stand will be dedicated to the club's most passionate fans, creating an electric atmosphere on match days.

A hub of activity

The new stadium is not only set to host thrilling football matches, but it will also become a vital hub for the community. With plans for shops, housing, bars, and restaurants in the surrounding area, the stadium aims to create an exciting new destination for locals and visitors alike.

The end of an era

As a bittersweet goodbye, Everton's final match at Goodison Park is currently scheduled to be on May 11 against Sheffield United. After that, the club will be moving to their new home at Bramley-Moore Dock, marking the end of an era for Everton and the start of an exciting new chapter.
