Goals from Ella Toone and an extra-time winner from Chloe Kelly sealed a famous win for the Lionesses and Hayes could not have been prouder.

Covering the match for ESPN, Hayes said during the trophy celebration: “Honestly I can’t find my words.

“This whole place has exploded. These amazing players, this amazing atmosphere.

“I know that everybody has worked so hard for a day like today so I’m just so overwhelmed and proud by everything and listen to this place! It’s absolutely rocking in here.

Fans on social media shared the love for Hayes, who has won the Women’s Super League on five occasions with the Blues.

One supporter wrote: “What a legend.”

Another added: “She’s just got that aura. Such a legend.”

And a Chelsea fan said: “Emma Hayes is such a blessing. We don’t realise how fortunate we are to have her be a part of our great football club.”

Fans also went wild for England hero Kelly with some suggesting she should be Prime Minister.

Her winning goal – also her first goal in an England shirt – earned praise from Her Majesty the Queen as well as England men’s stars Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling, and Piers Morgan.
