Rivals say Chelsea are ‘in the mud’ after Brighton’s staggering price-tag for Moises Caicedo transfer is revealed

ARSENAL supporters have mocked Chelsea after it was revealed that Brighton want over £100million for Moises Caicedo.

The Ecuadorian midfielder only cost the Seagulls just £4m in 2021 from Independiente del Valle but now the South Coast side want 25 TIMES that amount to sell him.

Brighton ar edemanding a huge fee for Chelsea target Moises Caicedo

Brighton rejected two bids from Arsenal for Caicedo back in January, with the latter believed to be around £70m.

He has since penned a new one-year option at the Amex until 2027 but that has not stopped the interest in him from mounting.

Caicedo is a target for Chelsea, with new boss Mauricio Pochettino hoping to land the ace as part of his Stamford Bridge rebuild.

But The Telegraph state that Brighton chiefs are comparing him to Declan Rice – with the 21-year-old three years younger than the West Ham man.

Arsenal are on the verge of landing the England midfielder for £105m and the Seagulls believe their man is worth just as much.

Chelsea smashed the British transfer record to bring Argentina star Enzo Fernandez from Benfica in January for a massive £107m.

And after the departures of N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Poch sees Caicedo as the ideal man to come in and play alongside the World Cup winner.

But they will have to fork out a similar fee to get him – and rival supporters reacted to the news with amusement on Twitter.

“Chelsea in the mud,” declared one fan.

Another said: “Oops Chelsea fans. Hahahahahaha. Another club more difficult than West Ham is Brighton. Hahahaha.”

“Things I love to see,” joked another rival fan, as another Arsenal supporter wrote: “Lol we’ve c***ed it up for Chelsea!”
