Arthur Gomes netted Sporting’s second goal

Henry was doing punditry for CBS Sports when he made the remarks while watching a replay of Arthur Gomes’ excellent solo goal deep into stoppage time.

The Brazilian cut inside and knocked the ball through the legs of defender Emerson Royal before finishing past Hugo Lloris.

Pundit Jamie Carragher set Henry up saying “the joy of Thierry Henry” as he made celebratory noises as he saw the strike again.

Henry then said: “That goal… I don’t care if it was against Spurs but look at what he does.

“Stepover, meg – see you later. Hugo, meg – see you later. Two-nil – bye.”

Fans reacted to Henry’s in shock commentary, particularly supporters of rivals Arsenal as one said: “I love that Henry still has a hatred for Spurs, he never lost to them the whole time he was at the Arsenal.”

Another reacted: “Once a Gunner, always a Gunner.”

More saw the funny side of the legendary striker’s reaction: “Thierry Henry is a savage for that commentary.”

Other supporters said: “The moans and the ‘bye’ is killing me.”

Henry is not the only one reacting to Spurs’ defeat as their own manager Antonio Conte has been left raging over the loss and has forced Tottenham players into training today.

The North London club will look to put things right against Leicester on Saturday.
