MANCHESTER UNITED legend Wayne Rooney believes his former club can snatch a draw against Liverpool – despite their poor start to the Premier League season.
The Red Devils have started their league campaign terribly, losing their opening two games.

Both United and Liverpool are without wins in the league
A 2-1 opening game defeat to Brighton was followed up with a humiliating 4-0 loss at the hands of Brentford.
United found themselves rock bottom of the Premier League until Saturday, when West Ham dropped to 20th after falling to a 2-0 loss to Brighton at the London Stadium.
Erik ten Hag‘s side could reclaim bottom spot on Monday when they face rivals Liverpool.
However, United icon Rooney believes his former club could get a point on the board to kick-start their season.
Liverpool haven’t had the best of starts either, drawing their opening two games.
Rooney said in his Times column: “Play like they did against Brentford, and United will suffer an even worse result than their 5-0 defeat by Liverpool last season.
“I don’t expect that to happen, by the way — I can’t see United winning, but I believe there’ll be a reaction and they’ll lose by the odd goal, or even snatch a draw.”
Rooney has sensationally called on Ten Hag to DROP Cristiano Ronaldo for the big game.
The England all-time top scorer says the team needs more energy up front.
He said: “I wouldn’t play Cristiano Ronaldo, and I wouldn’t play Marcus Rashford.
“If I was in Ten Hag’s position my main concern would be getting energy on the pitch, and United’s failure to recruit a No9 means they relied on Ronaldo against Brentford, even though he hadn’t trained a lot with the team. He looked like he needs time to get match fit.
“He has also let it be known that he wants to leave the club.
“I don’t know his reasons but, as I wrote in my last column, I’d let him — he’s a great player and will always score goals but the task for Ten Hag is to produce a team that can compete for the title in three or four years’ time. That means rebuilding with younger players.”
Rooney’s comments upset Ronaldo superfan Piers Morgan.
SunSport columnist Morgan told Rooney to pipe down on Twitter while knocking the ex-striker’s start to life as DC United manager.
Morgan fumed: “Rooney has a managerial win record of 28% and his DC United team lost 6-0 yesterday.
“So I suggest he pipes down with the management advice and endless jealous b***hing about @cristiano whose talent, success & fitness levels all dwarf Rooney’s.”
