F1 Star Carlos Sainz Chases Down Thieves and Recovers £500k Watch

Formula One star Carlos Sainz was the victim of a robbery just hours after his impressive third-place finish in the Italian GP. Reports from Italy state that the Ferrari driver was targeted by thieves near the Armani hotel in Milan at approximately 8:30pm. However, Sainz, still dressed in his Ferrari kit, chased after the robbers with the help of bystanders who witnessed the incident.

Valiant Recovery

Thanks to Sainz's quick action and the assistance of the public, the Spanish driver managed to catch the robbers and retrieve his precious Richard Mille watch. The police have since arrested two suspects in connection with the theft.

Racing Rivals Fall Victim

This incident follows the earlier robbery of fellow F1 driver Lando Norris, who had his £144,000 Richard Mille watch stolen after England's Euro finals loss to Italy. Unfortunately for Norris, his watch was never recovered and a man was found not guilty of the robbery.

Max Verstappen's Dominance

Meanwhile, Max Verstappen continues to dominate the world of Formula One. The Dutch driver achieved his tenth consecutive victory at the Italian GP, setting a new F1 record. Verstappen faced a tough battle with Carlos Sainz, who had secured pole position for the Italian team in their home race.

During the race, Verstappen initially struggled to overtake Sainz, locking up as he tried to squeeze past the Spaniard's Ferrari into turn one. However, he successfully completed the move four corners later, taking the lead and maintaining it until the end. This win has given Verstappen a 145-point advantage in the championship over his teammate Sergio Perez.

Verstappen's race engineer, Gianpiero Lambiase, described the victory as "a stroll in the park" over the team's radio. When asked about his milestone achievement, Verstappen commented, "I never would have believed that it was possible, but we had to work for it today and that made it a lot more fun. I was just trying to stay patient, and I could see they [Ferrari] were struggling with rear tyres, so I had to pick my moment."
