LEWIS HAMILTON posed for photos with Michael Jordan, David Beckham and Tom Brady as the celebrities flocked to the first ever Miami Grand Prix on Sunday.

The seven-time world champion qualified sixth for the inaugural edition of the east coast race as he looks for improvement after a difficult start to the 2022 F1 season.

But prior to getting down to business on the track, Hamilton took the time to meet some of the famous faces at the grid.

Among them were NFL legend Brady, NBA Hall of Famer Jordan and former England football captain Beckham.

NBA star Paolo Banchero was also present on the grid, but Sky Sports presenter Martin Brundle mistakenly called him Patrick Mahomes, before the basketball player rather embarrassingly corrected him.

Ex-basketball player Dwayne Wade also rocked up to the huge event alongside actress Gabrielle Union.

And Hamilton lived up to the race’s billing with the attire he chose to wear for his arrival as he walked in with a full pink outfit.

Meanwhile, his teammate George Russell suffered an incredibly difficult qualifying session as the porpoising continued to affect the speed of the Silver Arrows.

After the session, Mercedes chief Toto Wolff said: ” I think we have seen a performance car yesterday in FP2 that was real, we were able to put it in a sweet spot.

“Today in FP3 we were completely off with the experiments that we did.

“The car is still bouncing like a kangaroo and the drivers are not happy with it and you can see that is the reason we are off.

“We definitely have a better handle [on what does and doesn’t work]. Also the slump that we had from yesterday and today helped.”
