Lewis Hamilton reveals he could make shock career U-turn and RETIRE despite signing two-year contract last week

Formula One legend Lewis Hamilton has stunned fans by hinting that he may retire from the sport, despite recently signing a new two-year contract. The seven-time world champion admitted that his feelings about his future in F1 "could change" at any time.

U-turn on the horizon?

Despite his desire to win an eighth world title and his hunger to compete, Hamilton confessed that retirement is a possibility. While he initially planned to continue driving beyond 2025 in order to help Mercedes overthrow Red Bull's dominance, Max Verstappen's recent successes may have dampened his optimism.

Priorities in perspective

Hamilton acknowledges that his priorities in life could shift over time, affecting his motivation and career decisions. While his immediate goal is to win another world championship and bring Mercedes to the top of the constructors' championship, he also contemplates his long-term future and what his next contract will look like.

Uncertain future

The 38-year-old racer expressed his uncertainty about his future in Formula One, stating, "It could change. I could come back next year and be like, 'damn it.' Who knows?" Despite this, Hamilton remains focused on his current mindset, aiming to stay positive and find a balance between work, family, and personal enjoyment.

While some, like three-time F1 champion Sir Jackie Stewart, have questioned Hamilton's desire and ability to win another title, Hamilton insists that he is fully committed and passionate about the sport. As he aims to find the perfect balance in his life, he continues to love what he's doing.
