Martin Brundle Criticizes FIA after Lewis Hamilton’s Disqualification from US Grand Prix

Hamilton and Leclerc Disqualified

Former Formula One star Martin Brundle has raised concerns about the FIA after Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were disqualified from the US Grand Prix. The Mercedes and Ferrari drivers took to social media with a one-word post following the decision.

Illegal Floors

Hamilton and Leclerc were selected for random spot checks after the race, along with two other drivers. However, all four cars were found to have run illegal floors, specifically failing to hit the minimum thickness of the titanium skidblock. This allowed them to run their cars closer to the ground and gain an advantage in the corners.

Questioning the FIA

Brundle questioned why the FIA only checked four cars when half of them were found to be illegal. He suggested that all 17 cars that finished the race should have been checked. He also acknowledged the comprehensive pre and post-race checks conducted by the FIA.

Leclerc's Reaction

Leclerc expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision by liking a post on social media that shared Brundle's thoughts. However, he later unliked the post.

F1 will continue with the Mexican GP next weekend.
