IMPROVING youngster Nube Negra claimed the scalp of Altior in a stunning result at Kempton.
The Dan Skelton-trained 20-1 shot travelled all over Nicky Henderson’s 10-year-old, who was making his eagerly-awaited reappearance.
Jockey Nico De Boinville was hard at work a long way from home on Altior in the Grade 2 contest.
And he had no answers when Harry Skelton sent Nube Negra for home two out, and the six-year-old was hard held crossing the line.
Betfair pushed Altior out to 12-1 from 6s for the Champion Chase, while Nube Negra was introduced as 12s.
