‘Appalling’ Moment Racegoer is Run Over by Horses at Start of Shambolic Carlisle Race

A shocking incident unfolded at the Carlisle racecourse on Thursday as a racegoer was run over by charging horses at the start of a race.

The race began at 5.05pm, but it quickly became apparent that something had gone terribly wrong. The horses were off and running before the man in question could safely cross to the other side.

The man attempted to make his way to the other side before the race started, but he only managed to reach the middle of the track before being taken down by the oncoming field of horses.

While it remains unclear who the man is, his proximity to the starter suggests that he may have been working at the track.
