Arc de Triomphe: The best of Frankie Dettori – the jockeys six Arc winners, can Enable make it seven?

FRANKIE DETTORI heads into Sunday’s race as the most successful jockey in Arc history with six wins to his name.

He has ridden in a staggering 31 renewals, but if Enable wins her third, then 2020 will easily go down as the best of the bunch.

Golden Horn’s 2015 win went down in the history books as one of the all-time great rides

Lammtarra – 1995

The first of many. Saeed bin Suroor’s unbeaten three-year-old justified the favourite tag to land the odds.

The Guineas and Derby hero would never race again after only four starts, but earnt a cool £1.2 million in just four outings.

Sakhee – 2001

A real high in the Dettori career, this win was one of the highlights of Dettori’s time in the famous Godolphin blue.

He scooted home by six lengths despite a terrible draw and after a six year wait he had his second.

Marienbard – 2002

Like a London bus, his next Arc win came the very next autumn. For the same connections Dettori triumphed again on the 10-1 shot.

He upset French Derby winner Sulamani as well as leading Irish hope High Chaparral.

Golden Horn – 2015

After a few near misses it was John Gosden that provided Dettori with his next.

As well as being Gosden’s first Arc, it will go down as one of the greatest Arc rides in history as Dettori stayed wide for much of the race before winning by two lengths and denying Treve a famous hat-trick.

Enable – 2017

Chantilly hosted the 2017 running as Longchamp got a makeover.

But it made no difference to Enable who burst clear to win with authority. She announced herself to the racing world with an easy win.

Enable – 2018

Not as visually impressive this time around as Sea Of Class may have been an unlucky second.

But Enable had a troubled campaign at four and it showed the measure of horse, trainer and jockey to get her up for a famous second Arc.
