Bookies are underestimating my 14-1 runner in the King George at Goodwood on Friday

IT’S great for the game that we have a potential Classic contender for the King and Queen.

I didn’t have an interest in the Gordon Stakes, so it was a great thrill to see Desert Crown get his head in front.

It’s going to be a big boost to the St Leger if he goes there and any success they have is only a good thing.

Our runners found the ground hard work yesterday, but I was very pleased with Alsakib and I haven’t given up hope that he is a Group horse.

I think we have a better chance than the odds suggest of winning the King George Qatar Stakes with NYMPHADORA (3.35).

She was a double-figure price the last I saw, but I think the bookies are underestimating her.

I was over the moon with her at York last month when she won a Listed race a shade cosily.

She loves getting her toe in and she’s in flying form, she heads to Goodwood at the top of her game.

She is up in class into a Group 2 but I think the track and trip are ideal and she can give the best of them a run for their money.

We kick off with TYPEWRITER (1.50) in the 2m4f handicap, where the trip is still something of an unknown.

She was fourth over a similar distance at Royal Ascot, but that was a muddling race so it’s still a bit of a punt.

We could ideally do with the ground drying out a fair bit for TEUMESSIAS FOX (4.10) in the strong-looking Glorious Stakes.

As things stand, I think Hamish will be near impossible to beat on ground that he loves. Our lad will be happier back down at a mile and a half.

LOADED GUN (4.45), on the other hand, handles soft ground well and should run a big race after opening his account at Chester.

He’s on a good mark and his owner, Michael Blencowe, is local to Goodwood. We’ve always wanted a winner for him at this meeting.
