Racing League: Five horses to follow on Week Two of £2million competition including 12-1 shot for Frankie Dettori

, Racing League: Five horses to follow on Week Two of £2million competition including 12-1 shot for Frankie Dettori

THE Racing League rolls on to Doncaster on Thursday night after the Newmarket Red team dominated week one.

There are six fiercely competitive races scheduled for this week’s fixture, and here at Sun Racing we have picked out our five horse to follow.

There are six top races to come from Doncaster as the Racing League continues

5.42 – Ballintoy Harbour (Team Arena)

Paul Midgley’s speedster can get the meeting off to a flyer for Team Arena.

He has been steadily progressive all season and appreciated the drop back to 5f when winning cosily at Newmarket last time out.

He is up 6lb but he is only a young horse with plenty of upside, so there should be more to come. Top jockey Paul Mulrennan is 1-1 on him.

6.13 – Theotherside (Team ThoroughBid)

The in-form four-year-old can give Richard Hannon his first Racing League winner.

He had been knocking on the door this summer before a gutsy win over this trip at Salisbury last time out.

He was hit with a 4lb rise for his recent victory but he has won off this mark in the past, so a bold bid looks likely.

Newmarket Red heads the standings after Week One

6.48 – Blackheath (Team Arena)

Team Arena can bag another big prize with Michael Dods’ useful six-year-old Blackheath.

Things had been happening a bit too quick for him over 6f, but he took a big step back in the right direction when a close third over this 7f trip at Leicester.

That suggested her was coming back to the boil and he lines up in first-time cheek pieces off a very tempting mark.

7.20 – Bake (Team ODDSbible)

One of the most promising horses to run at this year’s Racing League and he can give Team ODDSbible some vital points.

He broke his maiden in a hack canter at Yarmouth, breezing clear to win by nine and a half lengths.

He goes handicapping off a very tempting opening mark of 82 and he will relish the step up to a mile.

Frankie Dettori is set to ride at this week’s Racing League fixture

7.53 – Pitcher’s Point (Newmarket Red)

Frankie Dettori rides at the Racing League for the first time and he can give title-chasing Newmarket Red another winner.

The John and Thady Gosden-trained Pitcher’s Point has been off since a rare flop on the all-weather at Chelmsford in March.

He is now only 2lb above his last winning mark and, for a horse who can race keenly, he should get a decent gallop to aim at here.
