‘Sore loser’ horse goes full Luis Suarez after being beaten by 22-1 outsider on the line

THIS is the shocking moment a ‘sore loser’ horse went full Luis Suarez and BIT a rival after being beaten on the line.

Havana Goldrush was pipped by David Probert’s 22-1 outsider Eye Of The Water in a Class 6 mile race at Bath on Monday evening.

The finish was nothing out of the ordinary – until Havana Goldrush swivelled his head and tried to take a chunk out of his rival.

Jockey Liam Keniry was helpless to control his 6-1 mount, who picked up a little over £1,500 for coming second.

Head-on video showed the Stan Moore-trained four-year-old gelding veer off the inside rail while trying to chomp the winner’s face.

Last year’s Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike famously did similar after winning America’s biggest race.

Punters watching the Bath race on Bank Holiday Monday couldn’t believe what they had witnessed.

One said simply, ‘Suarez’ while another declared the runner-up a ‘dirty player’.

Another wrote: “Bad loser.”

One comment read: “Can’t beat them, eat them.”

A fellow Twitter user posted: “Have you ever seen anything like this?

“Was that his way of saying ‘I am trying to win this race so go away?'”

The shocking incident drew comparisons to the infamous Ubedizzy.

Remembered as one of the most savage racehorses of his era, he reportedly had to race in a muzzle.

After finishing second in the 1978 Abernant Stakes, Ubedizzy attacked his groom, future trainer Andrew Crook, and bit off the top of his finger.

The horse never ran in Britain again.

Suarez was famously banned for biting Italy star Chiellini during the 2014 World Cup
