Watch jockey get launched off ‘bucking bronco’ horse after smack to control it goes horribly wrong

A ‘BUCKING bronco’ horse launches a jockey through the air after a smack to control it goes horribly wrong.

Anthony Renard went for a ride of a different kind after failing to control naughty Zone Rouge.

But some punters speculated it was deserved after the jockey’s questionable strike down the horse’s flank.

The drama started when Zone Rouge started getting agitated in the parade ring prior to a race at Dieppe in France on Saturday.

He nearly caught one stable girl with a swift kick before taking Renard for a few pre-race jumps.

It looked like the jockey had the horse under control when they went onto the course.

And Zone Rouge had actually stopped bucking when Renard planted a whip strike down its flank.

That prompted a furious reaction from the horse – and some of the watching public – who then sent the jockey flying to the turf.

A tweet sent from the account of top trainer Fergal O’Brien seemed to sum up the view of many, who slammed the jockey for using his whip.

The tweet accompanied the video of Renard getting dumped off and read: “You don’t always get what you deserve in life. But sometimes you do!”

Sky Sports Racing host Tim Carroll was another who thought the jockey was out of line.

He posted online: “Shouldn’t have given him that back hander which must have gone very close to the flank… just saying.”

One punter said: “Jockey seemed to have done the job of calming the horse, then gave it a crack and regretted it.”

A fellow Twitter user wrote: “He was doing a great job on board the horse, looked like it was starting to settle… then he gave it one behind.”

While another comment read: “The horse always has the last word!”

Fortunately neither jockey or horse were hurt – although they went onto finish last in the 2m2f 195y hurdle contest.
