Carlos Alcaraz González, also known as Carlos Alcaraz Sr., is Carlos Alcaraz’s father.
He had a successful career as a professional tennis player in the early 1990s and was ranked among the top 40 players in Spain.
Furthermore he was the director at the Real Sociedad Club de Campo de Murcia.
He introduced his son to tennis when young Carlos was just four years old, becoming his coach and mentor.
Since then he has accompanied Carlos to a number of tennis events, including the ATP 1000 Madrid Masters.
In 2018 Carlos Sr. signed his son at Juan’s Sport Academy with Juan Carlos Ferrera, a former world number one player, who became his new coach and helped to improve his technique.
Alcaraz said in an interview with Espana Diario about his father: “He knows a lot about tennis…
“My father played very well, everyone who faced him says so, but he did not have the opportunity to grow.”

Virginia Garfia Escandón is Carlos Alcaraz’s mother.
She married her husband Carlos Alcaraz Gonzalez in her 20s while living in Spain.
Even though she is not into sports herself, she has been supporting her husband and son throughout their tennis careers.
Virginia has been present at numerous tournaments, including witnessing her son’s historic victory at the US Open Championships in 2022.
Does Carlos Alcaraz have any siblings?
Carlos Alcaraz has three brothers called Alvaro, Sergio, and Jaime.
